Position Specific Description
The Enterprise Geospatial team is seeking a Geospatial Architecture Manager with deep expertise in enterprise geospatial architecture, Esri platforms, and cloud-native solutions.
This role is accountable for defining and governing the architecture, standards, and roadmaps for a scalable Enterprise Geospatial Platform supporting multiple business units.
The Geospatial Architecture Manager partners closely with business and IT leaders to translate strategic objectives into target-state architectures, ensuring consistency, scalability, security, and long-term sustainability of geospatial capabilities across the organization.
Ideal Experience & Skills
- 10+ years in geospatial architecture, enterprise architecture, or GIS technology leadership roles
- Strong experience defining enterprise technology roadmaps and architectural standards
- Proven ability to translate business strategy into scalable platform architectures
- Deep knowledge of Esri geospatial platforms and enterprise GIS best practices
- Experience leading architecture in complex, regulated enterprise environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with executive-level presence
Preferred Technical & Architecture Experience:
- 5+ years designing enterprise-scale Esri platform architectures
- Hands-on architecture experience with AWS-based geospatial solutions
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native deployment patterns, including containers and Kubernetes
- Experience defining DevSecOps-aligned architectural patterns
- Familiarity with integration patterns, APIs, and event-driven architectures
- AWS, Kubernetes, or architecture certifications (preferred)
- Define and govern enterprise geospatial architecture standards, principles, and reference architectures
- Develop current-state and target-state architectures aligned to business strategy and technology roadmaps
- Decompose business initiatives into architectural capabilities, patterns, and services
- Lead architecture reviews, design approvals, and technology evaluations for geospatial solutions
- Establish architectural guardrails for cloud-native, API-driven, and platform-based geospatial solutions
- Define data architecture patterns, including geospatial data pipelines, integration, and analytics enablement
- Guide migration strategies from legacy GIS solutions to modern, cloud-based architectures
- Serve as the architectural authority for Esri Platform deployments and integrations
- Anticipate industry trends and emerging technologies to influence future-state geospatial architecture
Job Overview

- Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy
- Oversees value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs
- Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation
- Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments
- Oversees development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)
- Attracts, develops and retains a high-performing and diverse team
- Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs
- Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives
- Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 8+ years
- Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
