Position Specific Description

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities

  • Define and execute enterprise-wide IT integration vision and strategy for electricity and gas retail energy operations across Texas and Northeast deregulated markets
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between IT, business units, and strategic partners to drive integration excellence
  • Oversee multi-million dollar integration program budgets with accountability for ROI and business value delivery
  • Champion data governance and migration strategies ensuring exceptional data quality and business continuity
  • Direct implementation of mission-critical systems including digital sales, self-service, telephony platforms, billing solutions, supply and forecasting platforms
  • Ensure regulatory compliance while enabling technology innovation across the retail energy value chain
  • Provide executive guidance on integration roadmaps during mergers, acquisitions, and digital transformation initiatives

 

Executive Experience Required

  • 10+ years progressive IT leadership with minimum 5 years director-level experience in retail energy
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale integration programs with significant business impact
  • Proven track record optimizing SAS and custom development platforms
  • Experience in managing offshore vendors and teams
  • Executive oversight of major data transformation initiatives with measurable quality improvements
  • Experience managing departmental budgets exceeding $5M with consistent cost optimization results
  • Strategic vision for leveraging customer information systems as competitive advantage
  • Expert understanding of energy market regulatory landscape and compliance requirements

 

Executive Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
  • Advanced Project/Program Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with C-suite communication skills
  • Strategic problem-solving capabilities with focus on business outcomes
  • Experience presenting to executive stakeholders and board members
  • Deep understanding of retail energy business models and emerging market trends

Job Overview

This position establishes strategy, develops business plans, and oversees and directs the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions to meet business needs. Leaders in this role provide leadership and oversight to manage performance and results in one or more Information Technology (IT) disciplines. Individuals will be accountable for the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems and supported business processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•  Provides leadership, influence, vision, roadmap, and direction to the organization to contribute to achieving the company's goals

•  Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy

•  Oversees the value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs

•  Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation

•  Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments

•  Oversees the development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)

•  Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs

•  Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives

•  Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies

•  Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

•  High School Grad / GED

•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

•  Experience: 10+ years

•  Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years
