Position Specific Description

Job Purpose

The person in this role utilizes current technology to gather, store, disseminate, and analyze information to ultimately make strategic decisions. Uses quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external data sources to produce dashboards, metrics, reports, or insights and identify trends or anomalies. Collaborates with development teams to design business intelligence solutions. Implements initiatives to minimize external threats or competition and capitalize on opportunity markets. Contributes to the strategic planning process; presents insights to other levels of senior management on matters of competitiveness and provides recommendations for future modes of action. Responsible for leadership of Business Intelligence team; provide guidance, prioritization and coaching to team of analysts.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Working with stakeholders, understand project objectives and elicit information requirements. Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
  • Identify data sources required for analysis – ensure data is organized, cleansed and of sufficient quality to provide credible results. Data sets for analysis include (but not limited to) market data, industry data, customer data, product data and transactional data.
  • Develop rational, scalable and reliable process for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Responsible for delivery of all reporting requirements to the business, exclusive of ERP reports.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Deliver the results in a clear, understandable, and actionable manner via a dashboard, report, presentation, or other vehicles as required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including, executives, managers, sales, IT, and external partners.
  • Manages customer insights and customer data; functions as the “go to” customer trends expert
  • Leads efforts to administer a Company-wide BI Database and Front-end Analytics Tools
  • Responsible for managing a team of data analysts; provide guidance and prioritization of projects, as well as coaching
  • Provide strategic guidance via mathematical and/or statistical methods targeting specific customers based on behavioral traits and/or demographic characteristics

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)  Prefer a graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (i.e., mathematics, statistics, economics, etc)
  • 10+ years of experience working in B2C & B2B business analysis using disparate data sources
  • Data Science experience is essential
  • Experience in advanced modeling techniques a must
  • Experience managing a team of people

Job Overview

This job is responsible for directing a team of business professionals that assess and analyze information for the purpose of attaining improved marketing efficiency and effectiveness. Leaders in this role use appropriate financial and statistical modeling to support business case analysis for significant marketing decisions. Accountabilities include providing analytical insight that leads to improved customer acquisition campaign response rates, lower monthly customer churn, and higher customer margins. The primary focus is to contribute to the overall business performance by achieving the budgeted residential customer growth.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Identifies appropriate customer segments for acquisition and retention programs and suggests appropriate treatment
•   Creates and maintains a consistent test/control campaign tracking and analysis methodology
•   Oversees the daily administration of marketing campaign tracking and analysis
•   Uses statistical modeling resources to analyze customer data and campaign results in support of programs to acquire and retain appropriate customer segments
•   Conducts personnel administration activity on a regular basis (Coaching, mentoring, engagement, development, management, etc.)
•   Provides input in the monthly and annual forecasting of marketing acquisition and retention customer growth goals
•   Conducts cross functional peer meetings to review and discuss marketing, sales, pricing, retention, and loyalty issues
•   Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
