Position Specific Description

The Outbound Sales Representative will play a critical role in expanding Gexa Energy’s reach within the small commercial segment by actively prospecting, generating leads, and securing new customers. This individual will leverage industry insights, sales expertise, and a proactive approach to meet ambitious sales targets. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Development, this position offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team focused on driving success through innovative, results-oriented sales tactics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation: Proactively research, identify, and qualify prospective small commercial customers, leveraging databases, social media, and other prospecting tools.
  • Cold Outreach: Conduct outbound calls, emails, and social media outreach to generate leads, book appointments, and introduce Gexa Energy’s offerings.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, tracking progress in CRM to ensure consistent activity and effective follow-up.
  • Needs Analysis: Engage with potential clients to understand their energy needs and present tailored solutions, showcasing the value of Gexa’s small commercial energy plans.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Business Development and Marketing teams to develop and execute targeted outbound campaigns, refine messaging, and share insights from customer interactions.
  • Market Insights: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes that may impact the small commercial sector.
  • Sales Goals: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals through consistent outbound sales efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in an outbound sales role, preferably within the energy or B2B services industry.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability to build rapport quickly, qualify leads, and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to convey complex solutions simply and persuasively.
  • Self-Motivation: Highly driven, with a proactive approach to developing leads and reaching out to prospects.
  • Technology Skills: Proficient in using CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and comfortable with sales prospecting tools.
  • Team Player: Collaborative spirit, willing to share insights, support team initiatives, and contribute to a high-performance sales culture.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for sales of turnkey end use facility infrastructure upgrades to private sector commercial and industrial clients throughout Florida. The primary focus will be on lighting upgrades, but additional equipment could include HVAC, building control systems, backup power systems, power quality protection devices. Employees in this role will establish business contacts to successfully develop sales territory.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Maintains sales programs within assigned territory by keeping customers informed about available services, supplies, prices, and new products
•   Keeps records and prepares reports on sales activities
•   Meets established sales quota
•   Monitors competitive activity and trends within the territory
•   Determines priority and effort given to each account based on sales potential and sales maintenance
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
•  Experience: 2+ years
