About Usource:
As NextEra Energy’s energy advisory business, Usource provides strategic energy and sustainability solutions to large industrial, commercial, and institutional energy users throughout North America.
Position Overview:
Usource is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive national growth by originating new clients, expanding existing relationships, and executing go-to-market strategies. This role is responsible for prospecting, engaging with Fortune 1000 customers, responding to marketing-driven leads, and managing an active sales pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Deep expertise in energy markets and renewables, with a strong understanding of power, natural gas, and sustainability solutions.
- A proven track record of success in business development, consultative sales, and closing large, complex deals.
- Experience building and managing relationships with Fortune 1000 customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy to drive business growth.
- Originate new clients and manage end-to-end sales cycles, from initial outreach to contract execution.
- Leverage deep knowledge of energy procurement, renewables, distributed generation, energy efficiency, demand response, and decarbonization strategies to tailor solutions for clients.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, legal, and regulatory teams to structure and execute complex energy transactions.
- Drive engagement with senior-level decision-makers to position Usource as a trusted energy advisor.

Job Overview
This job is responsible for selling fixed-price, indexed, and complex structured energy supply contracts for commercial and industrial customers. This includes prospecting new business opportunities, developing strategic plans and identifying process improvements. Leaders in this job oversee the implementation activities between Gexa Energy and other parties, including maintaining vendor relationships and agreements, and identifying business development opportunities. The primary performance metrics are sales margin and deal profitability. This role will have team management responsibilities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Maximizes sales through effective territory management
• Provides input in planning and directing all aspects of the company’s sales strategies, objectives and initiatives
• Develops pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers and channel partners
• Implements business plan to effectively manage assigned market segment
• Maintains existing key customer relationships
• Develops and implements strategies for expanding the company's customer base
• Ensures deals and contracts are flowing through the transaction process in accordance with risk management procedures
• Establishes performance goals for direct reports and monitors performance on a continual basis
• Ensures that the market transactions systems are processing deals correctly and contracts are flowing through the sales and contract administration process
• Ensures that key metrics are being tracked and reported to management
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
• Experience:7+ years
• Supervisor/Management Experience:7+ years
