Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s consulting business is one of the fastest-growing independent energy consulting companies, delivering comprehensive and innovative energy solutions to large commercial and industrial energy users throughout North America.

We are looking for driven individuals who have a willingness to learn and try new things to join us for a unique opportunity to participate in a development program designed to build their skills in various energy and sustainability consulting areas. The selected individuals will go through an organized training program led by company leaders covering on and off-site renewables, efficiency, energy solutions and energy commodities. Additional training/mentoring will be provided including consultative sales, business development, consulting business systems, and data analytics/visualization. After successful participation in the development program, participants can take on positions based on interest, performance, and organizational needs.

 

Preferred candidates are within driving distance to one our offices located in the following regions Boston, MA; Houston, TX; Juno Beach, FL; Pittsburgh, PA; San Francisco, CA.

 

Job Overview

 

Employees in this role will have the opportunity to accelerate their professional growth and diversify their work experience by engaging with various company segments and practices throughout the program. The program consists of rotations through the consulting practices, with additional training throughout. Employees will be supported by both the program leader, as well as an assigned mentor during the program. Individuals in the program will be responsible for supporting key activities in consulting, analytics, sales, and account management. Specific duties are based on rotational assignment but include the following:

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Develops, maintains, and manages a sales pipeline in support of assigned business goals and objectives
  • Conducts on-site sales and client management meetings with Prospects/Clients with senior staff
  • Analyze data and conduct research to understand clients operations, energy and sustainability objectives, and risk tolerances
  • Assist educating clients on their energy and sustainability solution options
  • Performs analysis and financial modelling
  • Prepares and delivers spreadsheets & presentations
  • Develops and maintains client relationships
  • Analyzes market data and prepares charts/presentations
  • Analyzes client energy usage and develops energy purchasing strategy
  • Develops RFPs
  • Supports negotiation and closing of renewables and energy supply agreements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s or Master's in – Business, Finance, Economics, Energy Management/Sustainability, STEM/Energy/Environmental related field

 

Job Overview

This job plans, monitors and manages internal projects from initiation to completion. Employees in this job provide technical direction on projects to the department or project team members.

  • Plans, coordinates and completes projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of new developments and technology pertaining to the projects
  • Monitors and recommends changes for improvement
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
