Position Specific Description
The Senior Director NextEra Distributed Water is responsible for running the resiliency business in NextEra's Distributed Generation team. Under the Senior Director - Distributed Water purview is business development and strategy, technical support of sales, development, and construction. This role also has P&L responsibility for the business, including G&A, capital spend, and operating project performance. In order to be effective, the Senior Director Distributed Water must coordinate with the executive director of sales, where all sales teams of the business report through, and the director business management, where the business managers for all operating projects across all DG business lines report through. The primary product of the business is the WaterHub, which performs "behind the meter" water reclamation and reuse, helping companies achieve their water savings goals and save money on their local water municipality bills. This position will have 14 direct reports and will be located in our Richmond, VA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop potential projects into approvable deals that can be built within appropriate risk and return guardrails
- Develop a stable of vendor relationships to build and operate these projects.
- Manage construction budget and timelines.
- Manage operating P&L of projects and annual G&A spend
- Upstream business development and market approach strategy
- Monitor operating performance of projects, and maintain strong customer relationships on operating deals

Job Overview
This position is responsible for the business development functions of the Company throughout the country and/or a specific geographic region. Leaders in this role are responsible for leading and coordinating key functions of a project such as financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design, project legal review, and financial negotiations. This position plays a key role in building strategic relationships and executing major contracts necessary to support the Company’s generating business growth initiatives.

- Provides overall leadership and drives key decisions during negotiations
- Oversees the development of contracts that position the internal project execution team for maximum success
- Presents with intent to influence decision making by senior management
- Develops, coaches and mentors team members
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad/GED
- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 12+ years
- Supervisory/Management Experience 6+ years
