Position Specific Description

Our Distribution Operations Department in the Power Delivery Business Unit is seeking a Production Lead to join their team at the Fort Myers Service Center.  

Job Overview

Employees in this role are tasked with managing the daily operations of the service center, ensuring safety leadership, and efficient resource allocation. This role involves communicating safety messages and adhering to distribution construction standards while supervising field activities and addressing out-of-service trouble tickets. In addition to operational decision-making and coordination with upper management, the Production Lead requires robust leadership skills to effectively manage bargaining unit employees according to the "Memorandum of Agreement." This position is crucial in fostering a safe, efficient, and adaptive service center environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage daily resource allocations to ensure alignment with work requirements, making necessary adjustments for any unforeseen circumstances
  • Make operational decisions related to safety and distribution in the field, ensuring compliance with established guidelines
  • Attend and participate in area management team calls and meetings to set expectations and coordinate activities with stakeholders i.e. Distribution Control Center, PD Resource Optimization Center (PDROC), etc
  • Coordinate and manage the scheduling and handling of out-of-service trouble tickets to ensure prompt resolution
  • Communicate safety messages and enforce adherence to safe work practices and distribution construction standards among team members
  • Supervise service center operations, guiding employees in daily tasks and providing coaching for optimal performance
  • Stay up-to-date and proficient with emerging technologies and tools relevant to the service center operations
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, field assessments, safety stand-downs, and lessons learned sessions, sharing insights and improvements with team members
  • Apply the "Memorandum of Agreement" effectively to manage bargaining unit employees, with guidance from the Operations Lead
  • Embrace and implement change management strategies to continually improve service center processes and efficiency
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 3+ years

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Technical Certificate Program

 

Certifications:

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
  • Lineman/Overhead Journeyman Certification
