Position Specific Description

  • At Florida Power & Light, our people are our biggest asset.  With seven nuclear reactors at four plant sites around the country, today, FPL’s nuclear fleet is one of the largest in the nation. Currently, we are seeking an Online/Outage Coordinator to join our Maintenance team at our Turkey Point Nuclear Plant.  To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Power Plant Electrical Maintenance work activities.

Job Overview

This position coordinates and executes maintenance activities associated with outage and online work management processes. Employees in this role ensure the performance of high-quality field walkdowns. Individuals function as maintenance department liaisons to plan and coordinate maintenance responsibilities with various plant groups.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participates in planning and coordinating daily maintenance activities including installation, inspection, replacement, adjustment and repair of station equipment, systems, buildings and facilities
  • Oversees the actions of maintenance workers executing corrective and preventive maintenance when necessary
  • Makes decisions of a complex nature and keeps management informed of results
  • Ensures work performance is in compliance with plant and industry requirements and procedures
  • Coordinates the implementation of preventive maintenance, surveillance and equipment calibration programs
  • Develops preventive maintenance procedures, work scheduling, outage preparation, work package planning and training
  • Incorporates safety, performance improvement, self assessment, corrective action and quality assurance programs into conduct of assigned duties
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 9+ years
  • Nuclear Experience: 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's - Engineering
  • Nuclear Experience: 10+ years
  • SRO License - Active, Inactive, or Prior

Special Requirements

Nuclear Specific Requirements:

  • Operations, maintenance or engineering experience: 10+ years
  • Generating station maintenance experience
  • Experience with maintenance scheduling tools/databases
  • Project management, conflict resolution, and leadership experience
  • Shift work may be required

 

Nuclear Specific Preferences:

  • Military background in either maintenance or nuclear operations
