Position Specific Description

They are helping shape our company and how our customers see us. With eight nuclear reactors at five plant sites around the country, today, FPL’s nuclear fleet is one of the largest in the nation. Currently, we are seeking a Nuclear Instrument and Control Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Turkey Point Nuclear Plant. The team is comprised of experienced Nuclear I&C professionals in this dual unit nuclear facility which is in Florida City, just 20 miles north of the Florida Keys. Job Overview
Minimum requirements for job:
A) Must hold an ICS position with FPL for a minimum of one year or equivalent experience.
B) Completion of the following college courses, or equivalent, with a minimum grade of C or is able to demonstrate an equivalent knowledge and understanding:
CET 2114C -- Digital Circuits
CET 2123 -- Microprocessor I
CET 2131-- Microprocessor II
- OR -
A) Associate degree in Electronics (AAS), Electronic Technology or Instrument Technology.
B) Has a minimum of three years working experience in instrumentation, computer hardware, software and basic knowledge of various programming languages.
- OR -
A) Any U.S. Navy Electronics Technician, E-5 or above, who has completed Electronic "A" school or any other individual with equivalent military electronic training and experience. Electronic training is defined as any combination of formal military schools which is comparable to the Navy electronic training as published in the "Commission on Accreditation of Service Experiences of the American Council on

A) Has acquired a four year degree in Digital Technology.
B) Has a minimum of three years working experience in the performance of tests, calibrations, inspection, surveys and repairs of instrument, controls, and equipment.
Accountabilities:
The Instrument & Control Specialist Digital is responsible for all the duties of an Instrument and Control Specialist and the repair and preventative maintenance of microprocessor based systems
