Position Specific Description

 

***This position will be based out of Proxima and North Central Valley, California and will support the Distributed Generation Solar & Battery Storage assets within the region***

 

This position sits within the Power Generation Division which is responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity.  This individual will perform the maintenance, electrical & mechanical day to day operations of the Distributed Generation Solar & Battery Storage portfolio in the region of California.

 

Individual will be responsible for supporting utility scale solar and battery storage sites as well.

 

  • Previous solar experience highly preferred.
  • Grounding and switching experience preferred.

Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar generation equipment on multiple solar power plants to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations. Successful candidates apply a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components and equipment to include the use of digital multi-meters, meggers, and amp clamps.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition
  • Provides inspection of watch, electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting for a solar field and battery energy storage equipment
  • Performs switching and grounding of medium and high voltage equipment
  • Ensures daily inspection for cooling system discrepancies, mechanical component breakage, and electrical component failures preventing site equipment from operating as designed are performed
  • Travel to other sites will be required

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 0+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

The base pay for this position is $43,200.00 to $64,800.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
