Position Specific Description

Join NextEra Energy's growing RNG Team within the Power Generation Division as an RNG Production Technician III at our Scissortail facility in Enid, OK. In this role, you will be responsible for the operations portion of the plant, monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment to ensure a steady supply of spec grade feedstock RNG is maintained and processed through the facility. This includes compressors, pumps, valving, and other process equipment.

 

The RNG Production Technician III conducts routine inspections and maintenance, promptly addressing any issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, tracking, and production activities, collaborating with the team to maintain a clean, organized work environment. Strict adherence to safety protocols and participation in safety meetings and training sessions are essential to enhance your knowledge and skills.

Specific duties include monitoring plant operations, assisting with startup, shutdown, and operations of facility equipment, identifying and resolving problems, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and environmental rules. You will also perform site inspections and audits, carry out preventative maintenance, observe gauges and indicators to ensure proper machine function, comprehend and interpret P&ID’s and SOP’s, and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment. Flexibility to work shifts and overtime, as well as operating a forklift to safely move materials within the facility, is also required.

Job Overview

The RNG Production Technician III is responsible for the operations portion of plant by monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment within our RNG production facility. The RNG Production Technician III performs routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in optimal condition, identifying and addressing any issues promptly. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines. Maintains accurate records of equipment maintenance, tracking, and production activities. Collaborates with the team to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Adheres to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure work environment. Participates in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skillsets.
 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee plant operations
  • Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment
  • Clear and concise documentation management 
  • Maintain communication with plant personnel and management 
  • Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance 
  • Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules
  • Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action
  • Use scientific rules and methods to solve problems
  • Conduct area inspections and audits
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
     

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 0+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Equivalent Experience
