Position Specific Description

This role may work from the Brevard or Doral office.

 

As a System Planner with our Florida City Gas team you will:

  • Evaluate the performance of gas distribution and transmission systems using hydraulic modeling software systems including Synergi.
  • Identify and analyze scenarios for project alternatives and recommend the most effective solution for pressure improvements, new business, main replacements, and public improvement projects to ensure cost effective and reliable service to our customers.
  • Have regular responsibility for providing system planning analysis and support to operations, engineering design, and sales teams 
  • Provide periodic on call after hours emergency support.
  • Become proficient in applying codes and standards applying to the natural gas industry including ASME, B31-8, CFR 192, and the Operations Procedure Manual .
  • Identify and escalate obstacles and issues posing a project risk and seek technical guidance from senior staff to resolve

 

Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred

Prior experience in the Natural Gas industry preferred

Job Overview

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and provides daily support for Engineering Design, Sales and Field Operations projects and emergency response
  • Analyzes infrastructure projects, evaluates alternatives, and recommends balanced solutions
  • Optimizes project solutions on multiple objectives considering system reliability, cost, and customer service
  • Analyzes gas systems, monitors system low points, and recommends corrective actions
  • Identifies and corrects distribution network model, validates loads and assignments, and completes quality control checks
  • Performs audit of the hydraulic system to ensure customers receive reliable service
  • Participates in engineering audits to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Develops recommendations to resolve existing compliance issues
  • Identifies and escalates obstacles/issues that put projects at risk
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's - Engineering
  • Experience: 2+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years
