Position Specific Description

This position will support the Power Generation Division West Region Solar & Storage fleet as part of the Cooling System Maintenance Team and will be based out of Desert Center, CA.

 

Work activities for this position include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on PV solar and battery energy storage inverter, battery, and building cooling systems such as HVACs, air-cooled cooling systems, and liquid-cooled cooling systems. EPA 608 certification is highly preferred. This position may be required to travel up to 75% within the West Region.

Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar generation equipment on multiple solar power plants to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations. Successful candidates apply a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components and equipment to include the use of digital multi-meters, meggers, and amp clamps.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition
  • Provides inspection of watch, electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting for a solar field equipment
  • Performs switching and grounding of medium and high voltage equipment
  • Performs daily inspection for cooling system discrepancies, mechanical component breakage, and electrical component failures preventing solar field equipment from operating as designed
  • Travel to other sites will be required

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 1+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
