Position Specific Description
The PGD Plant Technician – Central Solar & Storage Region is responsible for supporting inventory management and material logistics for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) facilities throughout the Central Region. This position ensures the efficient tracking, receipt, storage, staging, and distribution of materials required for new site operations.
This role is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting field operations, and ensuring materials are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. The Plant Technician will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain and Project Management, to coordinate material movement and maintain an organized staging facility.
This position is based in Weatherford, Texas, with regular support provided to solar and battery energy storage facilities throughout the Central Region. Occasional travel to project sites may be required, about 25%. The role involves warehouse operations, outdoor work, and operation of material handling equipment while maintaining strict adherence to company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage day-to-day inventory operations for new Central Region solar and BESS sites.
- Receive, inspect, document, and process incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and compliance with purchase orders and company standards.
- Coordinate the staging, storage, tracking, and distribution of materials and equipment to field locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using company inventory management systems and ensure timely reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Prepare, package, and coordinate outgoing shipments to newly operating sites while maintaining proper documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate material shortages or replenishment needs to Supply Chain and Operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and staging area in accordance with company safety policies and housekeeping standards.
- Conduct routine cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist with equipment inspections, material preservation, and proper storage practices to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and site personnel to schedule deliveries and resolve shipping or receiving issues.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, environmental requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
- Support emergency material requests and critical operational needs as required.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise inventory management systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment or obtain certification.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
