Position Specific Description

Under general supervision, performs maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generators maintenance and repair activities may include but not limited to gearboxes, generators, main shaft, turbine blades, collector rings, generator bearings, yaw drives, pitch tubes and weld repairs. Performs precision measurement, generator alignment, bearing replacement, and torque checks. Performs electrical and mechanical troubleshooting activities as required. Experience with crane operation with preferred experience in self-hoisting crane operation. Transports the self-hoisting crane to a job site (CDL required) or a reserve location as needed. Executes down-tower and/or up-tower operation of the self-hoisting crane. Performs preventative maintenance and routine inspections on the self-hoisting crane. Attends regular safety meetings and follow appropriate company safety and environmental policies. Operate, maintain, and manage utility truck and tool inventory. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance and work at heights greater than 100 feet from the ground surface. Extensive travel with little or no notice within the entire NextEra Energy fleet is required as part of the employee's schedule.

Employees in this entry-level role perform maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generators. Individuals conduct precision measurement, generator alignment, bearing replacement, and torque checks.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Under direct supervision:
•   Travels extensively with little or no notice within the entire company fleet
•   Performs maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment
•   Performs electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting
•   Maintains all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
•   Completes Safety Mentor training curriculum with 6 months of initial hire
•   Completes Wind Field Service Technician III training curriculum within first year
•   Ability to meet attendance requirements
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
