Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of the NextEra Energy Power Generation team.
This position will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the large scale universal solar and or battery facilities surrounding Blythe, California and Desert Center, CA. This position will report to the Regional Solar Site Manager out of McCoy Solar.
This individual is responsible as the site safety manager to ensure all personnel and equipment onsite are safe and that the site/s are in environmental compliance with all required regulatory permit requirements. Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with Engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptions and modifications. Routine tasks include executing inspections of watch, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor and OEM coordination, root cause analysis, and duties as assigned. Engineers on the NextEra Energy solar team will spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our solar facilities. At times, PGD Engineer will be on-call and responsible for the Southern California Region Sites, coordinating with the Renewables Operation Control Center, OEM’s, Vendors and Contractors as required. Working weekends and nights outages is required at times.
Engineer should be highly motivated with a strong bias for action and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering highly preferred. Previous PV solar and Battery experience highly desired.

The estimated base pay for this position is $87,200.00 to $130,800.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
