Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy Transmission, LLC (NEET) is seeking a Lead Project Manager to join the Lone Star Transmission team in Austin, TX.

 

In this role, the Lead Project Manager will oversee Capital and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) projects within our expansive system, which includes seven (7) offices, over 600 miles of high-voltage transmission lines, and eleven (11) electrical substations. The Lead Project Manager will ensure that these projects align with Lone Star Transmission's strategic objectives.

 

Key responsibilities include:

•    Planning, designing, executing, and monitoring all project aspects, and working closely with management to establish timelines and budgets, with regular updates.

 

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely, with a requirement for at least 25% travel each month.

Job Overview

Employees in this role lead multiple cross-functional project teams consisting of matrixed or direct reporting relationships to meet or exceed Transmission and Substation safety, reliability, financial and schedule goals while ensuring compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements for assigned company projects. Individuals generate product schedules based on stakeholder input and maintain adherence to them to meet in service dates. This position is responsible for reviewing actual spend compared to forecast spend based on project schedule progress for assigned projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Coordinates with project engineering, construction leads, transmission system planning, as well as other departments throughout the company
•   Develops and updates project schedules, budget forecasts, and cash flows
•   Mentors and trains other project managers, project engineers, or construction leads
•   Leads meetings associated with assigned projects
•   Updates business unit leadership on project status
•   Assesses potential Transmission and Substation projects for feasibility
•   Communicates project specifications to internal and external personnel at all levels
•   Manages multiple complex projects successfully at any given time
•   Acts as project sponsor for Total Safety Culture for assigned project teams
•   Meets attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Works extended hours, as needed
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's - Engineering
•  Experience:7+ years

Preferred Qualifications


•  Project Management Professional (PMP)
