Position Specific Description

We seek a dynamic Senior Large C&I Account Executive for NextEra Retail's indirect sales desk to drive growth and innovation in energy solutions. This position, integral to developing customer relationships for NextEra Retail, part of NextEra Energy Resources, focuses on managing high-volume channel partners.  In this role, you will identify new customer prospects through indirect sales channels and execute comprehensive sales plans primarily focused on C&I retail products. In partnership with our NextEra Resources, you'll also have the opportunity to offer grid-level products, distributed generation, storage, and fleet mobility solutions. Responsibilities include developing deal structures, pricing, contract negotiation, and securing internal approvals. You will collaborate with departments such as Pricing, Supply, Legal, Credit, and Billing, and work closely with other C&I Sales teams within NextEra. The focus will be on large C&I clients in competitive markets, providing an exciting chance to shape the future of energy through indirect sales strategies.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying new prospects and executing a direct customer sales plan to grow our diverse offering of energy solutions. Individuals are responsible for developing the deal structure, working with the different desks to develop pricing. Employees oversee, guide, and negotiate the contract to be signed between NextEra and the counterparty and are also responsible for selling the deal internally, navigating a rigorous vetting process, to gain approval. This position finally executes the structured transaction by gaining input from several different departments such as Pricing, Supply, Legal, Credit, and Billing. Employees will see the sales cycle through from start to finish – from sourcing clients, structuring deals with creative solutions, and contracting.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicates directly with potential customers and front-line originators to gain an understanding of customer needs in order to propose solutions, and/or negotiate deal structures and documents that meet those needs
  • Analyzes and develops different structures for the customer including risk mitigation solutions to ensure risks are appropriately managed and quantified
  • Oversees, guides, and negotiates the contract and related documents that will be signed between the Company and the counterparty
  • Prepares presentations and other internal communications for senior leadership to guide and support the internal vetting process
  • Coordinates with internal departments involved in the transaction such as Pricing, Legal, Credit, Accounting, Risk Management, and Trading Group
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
